If you need help : Your family will more than probably help you, neighbors might   help you, but the further away you go from you the less importance you have for anyone and they might not help you. The insurance companies, no matter how vile they may seem, will bow to our demands because they need us to survive. The government is not concerned by us, it is an entity far from us that will go on  focusing on what they find of interest to them or what correspond to their ideology..  This is the Law of Proximity. Push to create local solution to local problem and it will be effective.
